Processing of personal data

The personal data collected on our website is processed in compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, regarding the protection of natural persons concerning the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, as well as with Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and the guarantee of digital rights.

We also guarantee that personal data is processed in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner, collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes, and kept limited to these purposes and updated as necessary. The identification of the data subjects will not be permitted for longer than necessary, and their security will be ensured through appropriate technical and organizational measures.

Why do we process your data and what allows us to do so?

Personal data will be processed by the responsible entity when you provide it by filling out registration or contact forms, sending emails, or calling by phone.

Data will be processed to communicate with interested parties by any means and respond to inquiries and information requests.

  • Responding to inquiries and information requests: When the interested party sends an inquiry or request for information, we process their data with their consent to respond to the inquiry or request.
  • Managing user registration: When the interested party voluntarily registers on our website, we collect their data with their consent to formalize the user registration, retain information to provide our services, and maintain contact.
  • Registering the team: When the user registers in the Team Registry, the team leader and team mentor consent to their personal data being processed by Moto Engineering Foundation to manage their team’s registration in Moto Student and to send the necessary materials for the competition to the provided address. Additionally, their contact details will be used to send necessary communications related to the event.
  • Processing team images: With the consent of the Team Leader and the Team Mentor, we may process the team's images to publish them on our social media and corporate website to promote our activities.
  • Registering team members: When the user registers in the Members Registry, they consent to their personal data being processed by Moto Engineering Foundation to register them as a team member for participation in the Moto Student event and to send them informative communications about the event, training courses, and activities that may be of interest.
  • Processing images from presentation and project evaluation videos: As a team member, through the presentation video, your image will be processed to verify your identity and participation in the event, and later, through the project presentation video, to evaluate it. This processing of your image is legitimized by the contractual relationship that binds the user to MEF.
  • Job placement services: With your consent, your academic data and curriculum will be used to form part of the job bank and to connect you with job-offering companies.
  • Commercial communication with interested parties by any means:
    • When the user authorizes us through the contact form, we can communicate commercially with them by electronic means about our services and activities, processing their data with their consent.
    • When the interested party registers their email in our corresponding form, we process their data with their consent to keep them informed through periodic electronic communications about our services and activities.

Interested parties can object in each of the communications sent and additionally through the mechanism provided in the "What are your rights?" section.

  • Event participation: By accessing the Moto Student event, you are informed that Moto Engineering Foundation processes images of attendees through photographs or videos of the event to inform graphically about it on its website, social media, and media outlets, exercising its legitimate interest in fulfilling this purpose, considering the attendees' expectations regarding the capture and publication of their images in public event locations, as long as the image of individuals appears merely incidental as per Article 8, Section 2, c) of LO 1/1982 of 5 May on the civil protection of the right to honor, personal and family privacy, and self-image.
  • Considering candidates for our selection processes: If the interested party provides us with a curriculum, their data will be used to include it in current and future selection processes in our entity and to communicate with them, including by electronic means, regarding their application.
  • Using data storage and retrieval devices: When the interested party visits our page, we will use cookies and other tools with their consent for the purposes outlined in our Cookies Policy, where you can access more information.

To whom do we provide your data?

We may disclose personal data to third-party service providers solely to provide certain services following our instructions without using the data for their purposes, to carry out activities that are our own, or to competent public administrations in compliance with legal obligations.

How long do we retain your data?

As a general rule, data will be retained as long as they are compatible with the purpose for which they were collected, in compliance with legal conservation obligations, and to address responsibilities that may arise from the processing, after which they will be deleted.

Data collected for commercial communication will be retained as long as this purpose persists or the user objects to the processing.

What are your rights?

You may:

  2. Withdraw your consent when it was given for a specific processing
  3. Stop receiving our commercial communications by sending “I want to stop receiving commercial communications” to the Data Protection Officer’s email of the controller.
  4. Exercise your rights to:
    • Access, or know what personal data we process about you;
    • Rectification, or correct incorrect or inaccurate personal data;
    • Erasure, or delete the personal data we have about you that we are not legally obliged to retain;
    • Objection, or stop processing your personal data for a specific purpose;
    • Restriction, or restrict the processing we perform;
    • Portability, or provide you with the personal data we hold about you;

To exercise any of the rights granted to you by data protection regulations, you can request a form from the controller or download any of the forms proposed by the Spanish Data Protection Agency through this link and submit it completed with additional information to verify your identity, via privacy@fundacionmef.org.

How do we guarantee the security of your data?

We have adopted appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure an adequate level of security that prevents the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration of personal data, or unauthorized communication or access to such data.

We have also established procedures to respond within legal deadlines to any security breach that may occur regarding your personal data. When hiring providers, we ensure they implement adequate security measures for the protection of personal data.

We have updated this Policy to adapt it to the requirements and obligations of the General Data Protection Regulation.
